Second Shift

Beginning Tuesday, May 27th, Enterprise Systems Support will begin offering extended evening hours. Our hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Calls made at any other times will be forwarded to a voicemail connected to an on-call pager.
To manage the second shift, Garrett Stockum joins Enterprise Systems Support as the 2nd Shift Support Coordinator. The second shift will provide support for University-owned computers and equipment only. Phone support for personally-owned computers is limited to help accessing University resources from home, such as e-mail, network drives, and using the VPN. As during the day, our services includes phone support, remote support, and on-site assistance. Additionally, we can provide support for events upon request.
Please continue to call 438-5740 to reach us.
Additions to the Checkout Program
With the popularity of the Enterprise Systems Support Checkout Program growing there have been some wonderful additions. One new product being offered in the program is a Canon PowerShot SX100 IS digital camera. This camera features 10x optical zoom lens, 8.0 megapixels, face detection technology, Canon’s total anti-blur solution, red-eye correction, 2.5” LCD screen, 18 shooting modes, and much more. The camera is easy to use and sized to fit all hands.
The second new addition to the Enterprise Systems Support Checkout Program is a Dell Slim Auto/Air/AC Adapter. This is a compact device used to charge laptops wherever you may be located. It includes a DC power and AC power adapter in a convenient, small carrying case that will fit in your laptop bag. This is great for the person on the go!

Spam Quarantine
In an effort to reduce the amount of spam e-mail you receive, Illinois State University now has a new spam quarantine service. Most spam received for your e-mail address is known spam and is blocked by the University's anti-spam blacklists. The new spam quarantine service traps suspected spam e-mails that get past the blacklists. Suspected spam is held in spam quarantine. E-mails not suspected of being spam are delivered to your Inbox.
You may access your spam quarantine by visiting the ULID Maintenance website at http://www.ilstu.edu/ulid/. Click the "Spam Quarantine" link to access the following options:
- View suspected spam emails.
- Delete spam from your spam quarantine.
- Release legitimate emails from spam quarantine to your Inbox.
- Always allow legitimate email to pass through spam quarantine.
For more information, visit the University Computer Help Desk website at http://www.helpdesk.ilstu.edu/kb/index.phtml?kbid=1341 or call 438-5740.
Beware of Phishing Scams
Phishing is a type of scam aimed at capturing personal information, such as your password. Enterprise Systems Support will never ask for your password by e-mail. If you ever receive an e-mail requesting sensitive information such as your password, Social Security number, or banking account number, please be aware that it could be a phishing scam.
If you have any questions or concerns about an e-mail you have received, please call 438-5740.
438-5740
Please feel free to call 438-5740 if you ever need anything. This is our main Enterprise Systems Support number and it is staffed 24/7. Although we regularly check our individual e-mail and voicemail, calling the main line ensures that you will be able to reach someone every time.
